Signature Service

Signature services refer to an infrastructure provided as a service together with its associated processes, which electronically sign PDF documents correctly (in accordance with ZertES) and verify and validate the signatures.

• General information

  The signature services are part of the standard service for Identity and Access Management (IAM). The standard service is managed by the sector FCh-DTI, and the service provider is the Federal Office of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

• Ordering information

  • Server-based certificates can be ordered via DWP (for federal use only).
  • A free initial consultation must be conducted in order to connect a specialist application to the signature service. This can also be ordered via DWP.

• Use of the signature service in connection with a class A certificate

  • In the signature service, the expression of intent is initiated via the advanced class B certificate (personal smart card used to log in to a PC) or the MobileID.
  • In the event of a change of the class B certificate due to new issuance or renewal, the SG PKI must be notified
