Data for a better vanadium flow
Villigen, 02.10.2025 — Vanadium is a critical raw material. The metal can be used to build so-called redox flow batteries, which store electricity more permanently than lithium-ion batteries. This makes them an important building block for the energy transition. However, the supply of vanadium is still inadequate, and price volatility is curbing investment. A database created by researchers at the Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is supposed to rectify this.
